We've been working on this cargo rack since October last year - pretty soon after the Tesla Model Y was launched, the requests for cargo racks came in. Sure, there were some generic ones on the market to get your hands on, but we wanted one that was truly designed for the Model Y.
I contacted our factory in China and wrote "I need a fence to Tesla Model Y..." and a little more of course.
Sometimes they go a little too fast and they did this time - this was the first prototype they sent me. A "fence"...
There was a long email from me after this picture and a few weeks later it felt like it was starting to look like something that could be good.
Once it understood what I was looking for, pictures and comments about changes and improvements came continuously.
At the beginning of January we were all very happy and a number of boxes were shipped out before China closed for the celebration of the Chinese New Year and yesterday we received some of all these boxes.
